To Our Wildcats Community,

We here at Wildcats take child safety very seriously. Last night, there was an incident where a child left Eastwood Leisure Centre on their own and was not contactable for some time. All is well, and the child is safe, however, it has been brought to our attention that we must reiterate some safety must-do’s both for our coaches and also for you the parents.

Training times are made clear by your child’s coach at the beginning of the season. Children in U8, U10, U12 and U14 MUST be dropped off and picked up within the stadium where they are training. Could you please have a chat with your child and make them aware that they MUST NOT leave the stadium before you are there to pick them up.

If you have made alternate arrangements for your child to be picked up by someone other than yourself, can you please make the coach aware of this as soon as possible.

Punctuality at drop-off and pick-up times is a must. Our coaches are all volunteers who also have other commitments and can’t always be there if you drop your child off early or if you are late. It is our responsibility for that 45-60 minutes of training to look after your child. It is at times hard to have eyes on all children at once. Our coaches are instructed to stay until all the children within their team have been safely picked up, however, if you are late this makes things very difficult.

Important information to remember:

• Please don’t drop off your child more than 10 minutes prior to training and be prompt with pick up.

• Please drop off and pick up your child in the stadium.

• No children will be able to wait outside, especially now it’s getting darker earlier.

If you have any questions or queries in relation to this, please contact the club.
